The pottery of Earth and Fire, from Woodstock Maine artist Monica Mann, is hand thrown and sculpted, then fired in electric kilns at high temperatures. Because each piece is hand made, there are slight variations between pieces. The stoneware glazes are mixed in house. The green glaze is reminiscent of the balsam, spruce and hemlocks in the Maine woods. Glaze luster is between low gloss and matte finish. The pottery is food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Each piece in the Moose Ware line carries a distinctive hand sculpted "whimsical moose" motif. The surface carries several incised fir tree shapes.
